a wild garden inspired wedding in Somerset | uk wedding blog

Morning all! Oh the first real wedding of my return to blogging is an absolute cracker. This has been patiently sat in my inbox for quite some time and I knew this would be the one I would use as my return to weddings. I mean, aside from the couple being gorgeous, the whole day oozes happiness, relaxed vibes and so much love. Lucy and Alvar opted for a really laid back feel to their day, with over flowing foliage, plenty of mis-matched wild looking flowers, lots of cake and nods to Alvar’s Norwegian heritage.

a stunning Mrs & Mrs shoot in a gorgeous French chateau | uk wedding blog

facebook-profile-picture By Phoebe

Good morning! I hope you have been well? It is good to be back in the wedding blogging world after sporadic time off. This enchanted elopement is just the absolute perfect tonic to a hectic and quite sad life of late so I am exceptionally happy to share it with you today. I am always inspired by what fellow (well far more talented) creatives are doing in my industry, from creating gorgeous dresses and floral backdrops to pushing stereotypes and boundaries. Today I feel we have a beautiful mix of all the above. La Fête created beautiful inspiration and I am sure you will enjoy it all!

Magic Mike Live | UK WEDDING BLOG

By Laura

My goodness, where do I start? Tuesday night was one of the best nights I have had in a really long time. I sent a text to Phoebe to thank her for hiring me because I get to do some pretty cool things working for So You’re Getting Married, but this trumped them all haha! I couldn’t believe my luck when an email dropped into my inbox asking if I would go along to watch Channing Tatum’s Magic Mike Live at the London Hippodrome with a friend. Well of course I jumped at the chance, she must have been a bit shocked at how quickly I replied. Cue a few of my friends battling as to who would be the gracious receiver of the second ticket and when the winner was finally chosen she was equally as excited (despite the fact that we are both in serious, long term relationships!).

The Solent Hotel & Spa | UK WEDDING BLOG

By Laura

Hello lovely SYGMers, I hope you’ve been having a relaxing summer so far, whether that has been getting married, honeymooning or just enjoying the warm summer days. I love to travel the UK sampling different hotels and venues to give you guys an insight into all the wonderful gems there are out there. This weekend, we travelled down South to Fareham to spend an evening at The Solent Hotel & Spa. Located in Hampshire between Portsmouth and Southampton, the hotel is ideally situated for exploring the South Coast which is just a short drive away. The Solent Hotel is a great spot to escape from the city skylines without breaking the bank. It also has three function rooms that are fully licenced so if you fancy a venue near the sea then add The Solent Hotel & Spa to your list of venues to check out.

let Blue Sage Films capture the romance of your wedding day | uk wedding blog

facebook-profile-picture By Phoebe
I think I have said it repeatedly on the blog over the years but the one thing I regret not getting for our wedding back in 2010 was a videographer. It is the one thing I answer when someone asks me what I would change about my day. There is something that film of the day captures that photos can’t, especially when it comes to speeches, the first dance and the pure joy when you leave the ceremony. Whilst photography is so important, the emotions captured in film is something else and James does a superb job.

Monogrammed Pouches by Elizabeth Scarlett | UK WEDDING BLOG

By Laura

It’s finally July, we are in the throes of peak wedding season – our favourite time of year of course. There is obviously so much to think about when you are planning a wedding, the last thing you want to do is forget something crucial. That’s where the enlisting of your bride tribe comes in handy – if you give them a few little tasks each or ask them to remind you ‘have you done such and such yet?’ it will ensure that no stone goes unturned! It’s always a lovely touch though to thank them for being with you through every step of the wedding journey and today I’m going to show you these gorgeous Elizabeth Scarlett pouches. Not only are they the perfect thank you gift that will honestly last forever but they have recently launched a new monogramming service where you can add that personalised touch to each pouch.
