Dubbed “the most instagrammable salon in London”, Duck & Dry is a one stop shop for styling on the go in central London – specialising in blow drys and modern updos, it also offers Prosecco (oh yes), alongside a cute floral nail bar and makeup station, so I popped in for a visit this week to have a peek.
The Blow Dry specialist salons are also available for private hire, and you can book in in groups (hello hen do idea!) I love the branding and design of the website, especially the Lookbook menu – variations on blowdries (low waves, side waves etc) which make it easy to choose what you want, and the updos are current & wearable (halo braids, high buns, fishtails etc). The prices are the same whatever length and hair type you have, and start at £28 for a Blow-dry or updo with no wash. There are also cuts for guys, treatments and you can add in a trim to a blow-dry.
There are two salons in London – the newest salon in Oxford Circus, a five minute walk from Topshop, and one in Chelsea. I visited the West End salon, which is easy to find and obviously really central. The decor is lovely and clearly the swing (above) was made for hair swishing Instagram opportunities.
I should probably include a disclaimer (and it is a slightly self indulgent ridiculous one, I know) – I currently hate my hair. I usually have extensions and have had for 9 months now, but I had them out last week and in a fortnightly extension free lull before my next appointment. I know it is 100% first world problems, but my hair is so fine, and having got used to a thick head of hair for almost a year, I feel practically bald and sadly pretty unattractive. In this instance it was probably the worst time for me to get a blow dry as no amount of titivation is going to make me like my hair at the mo, hence the lack of photos of it (apologies to the stylist!)
Duck & Dry have also launched their own range of products, available instore (which I’ve some samples to try out, so I’ll keep you posted). The staff were helpful and friendly, and it’s a relaxed, easy going place to visit – I also think the pricing is reasonable for the City too.
You can book appointments online here.
*I was invited for a visit by Duck & Dry, but as always, my reviews are my honest thoughts – I wouldn’t recommend anything I wouldn’t be happy to pay for myself.
