This is such a refreshingly beautiful wedding. I love the white and green flowers by Helen and the grey accents Caroline and Chris brought in with their stationery. It feels like spring. I also adore the fact the groom is in a kilt, theres a distinct lack of kilts on this blog, and being half Scottish I feel I need more (this is your cue to submit). The kilts were made by a company well known to me having attended university in Stirling. And any bride that sports the Jenny Packham Acacia is a winner. I may be biased having worn it myself. I would have loved to have been a guest at this wedding.
Caroline and Chris’s Suppliers –
Wedding photographer – Katy Melling Photography. Katy was a fabulous photographer and made everybody feel very relaxed. We hardly knew she was there (not that we wanted to forget her!) and our day wasn’t spent posing! Katie also suggested a pre-wedding shoot which was lovely.
Venue – Ellingham Hall, Northumberland. We hired the entire hall for two nights and had a Hog Roast the night before the wedding. I fell in love with this venue the second I set foot in the Chapel Room.
Flowers – Bels Flowers. Helen is by far the most amazing florist I have ever encountered. Her imagination and taste are exquisite and she knew exactly what we had in my mind as I was describing it. She specially sourced the urns I had envisioned for the table centrepieces – one of which I kept for sentimental use at home! My flowers included white hydrangeas, verbena, eucalyptus, rosemary, chincherinchees and white Virginia. Each female guest had a chincherinchee on their place setting.
Bride’s dress /shoes – Dress by Lyn Ashworth and purchased from YAP Bridal, Newcastle. I looked in a million different dress shops, including in Glasgow and London to no avail but when I met Joe at ‘You are Precious’ and tried on her beautiful dresses my panic was over!
Bride’s hair accessories/veil – Jenny Packham Hair Piece, embellished veil from YAP Bridal.
Bride’s hair /makeup – ND Make Up Artists. Fabulous and professional service provided by ND and the girls made the morning such fun along with Carolyn. Hair styled by Carolyn Clayton – I wish Carolyn had time to become my regular hairdresser – she is wonderful!
Groom’s outfit/accessories/shoes – Henderson’s Kilt Makers, Stirling – Tailored ‘Gray’ tartan kilt.
Groomsmen’s outfits/accessories – Henderson’s too.
Cake – Rainbow Sugarcraft supplied our croquembouche – Chris hates cake and it actually turned out to be much better value!
DJ/entertainment – Livewire were our band, a few of our friends booked them for their weddings based on their brilliant performance! I danced all night!
Stationery – Made by me using stamps and inks. I really wanted our wedding to have our own personal touch. I sourced beautiful stamps on ‘etsy’.
Décor/wedding details – I didn’t have a theme for our wedding as such but my main colour themes were greys, whites and greens – and birds did seem to crop up throughout! I decided on white chair covers at the last minute and was very glad I did.
Catering/food/drink – Ellingham Hall. The food was wonderful and the Bombay Sapphire and Lemon Sorbet which we had been unable to try was a real hit!
The menu –
Asparagus, soft boiled quails eggs and prosciutto
Fish, chips, peas and homemade tartare sauce
Trio of lemon desserts
Wedding favours – Candle Lanterns by Sia wrapped in cellophane and ribbon
Honeymoon Destination – Tuscany
