Hello! I’m back this afternoon with a wonderful wedding venue nestled in the heart of Buckinghamshire. Woughton House is a picturesque Georgian manor house set on tranquil grounds minutes away from the hustle and bustle of Milton Keynes. Originally, a family home in the 19th century, Woughton House is now proudly owned by MGallery by Sofitel and has opened its doors as a quaint hotel and wedding venue. I was kindly invited to its grand launch and treated to an overnight stay and here’s what I thought!
Wedding planning has been a bit of a breeze so far and I have to admit I was feeling a little smug. We’ve been on the same page about what we want, who we want there & ticking off the to-do list has been nothing short of satisfactory. Then we spent an entire weekend wax sealing our invites to an inch of their lives. I popped them in the post box and had the biggest irrational fears – what if someone sets fire to the post box, what if I’ve sent people the wrong ones.
Good afternoon! Do you fancy being whisked off to the beautiful mountains of Wales? Well of course you do. The team behind this shoot took the romanticism of an elopement and the beauty of the mountains to create relaxed, boho inspiration. From the flowing gown, to the loose and wild bouquet, everything about this editorial is making me want to pull on a pair of boots, find some tweed and run away to the hills with my loved one.
We’ve been planning our wedding since January 2017, so Harry and I are both fairly shocked to find ourselves suddenly with less than 5 weeks to go! Luckily, Harry’s freakish Excel knowledge and my Type A obsessive need for organising are lending themselves extremely well to this wedding planning malarkey. So, since it’s been 3 months since my last post around here (sorry about that), I thought I’d take you through some of what we’ve been up to wedding-wise:Read More
Good afternoon! I hope you had a lovely bank holiday? The sun shone for most of it here in Yorkshire which was a superb treat. A lot of my friends got engaged over the weekend which was unexpected (purely just for the time of year) but so happy for them all. They have all the fun of wedding planning to come. First stop? I think a date but then definitely the photographer! Today we have a fun interview with wedding photographer James Malkin we ask who his photographic influencers are, and what his favourite food is. All the essentials.
You’ve just got engaged! Woohoo. And before all the hard planning begins you should celebrate with all your friends and family, that means an engagement party. This is the perfect time to introduce both sides of the family to one another.Read More
Afternoon! A little update for those of you looking to get married in the East Midlands, there are 3 incredible venues you need to know about and can visit for upcoming wedding events this summer. Calke Abbey is stunning, and the glasshouse at Clumber Park would be perfect for summer wedding photos and Stancliffe Hall fulfils the grand, romantic whimsy in me. Basically, I can’t chose between them, they are all stunning!
With all of the madness in the days before the nuptials, packing for the honeymoon (or in my case mini-moon) is likely to be the last thing in your thoughts. With that in mind, I have put together a slightly alternative blog post for those like me that are having a stay-cation in the wonderful UK!
Welcome to So You're Getting Married, a blog dedicated to bringing you daily doses of pretty things from around the wedding world. I also feature beauty, home interiors, fashion, and recipes. For more information about my freelance work please see above.
