Good morning! We may be swiftly falling in to autumn but that doesn’t stop us from looking at honeymoons and holidays, today we have teamed up with the ever so knowledgeable 101 Holidays to bring you SYGM’s choice of amazing honeymoons for 2020.

I mean, if you are looking for white sandy beaches, beautiful coastlines and a relaxed, serene way of life then a short plane ride from Barbados will land you in the Grenadines and you will be in paradise. You could combine the Bequia Beach Hotel with the Little Good Harbour for a two centre option, either will give you the calming Caribbean vibes you are probably craving after the hustle of wedding planning. Whether you want to do activities, visit the spa or simply relax on the beach, everything is catered for at Bequia Beach Hotel, there are Beverley Hill style pool cabanas, stylish bedrooms and food that will be simply unforgettable.

Have you seen Moana? Did you think…my goodness that looks lovely. Well head to Tahiti for your honeymoon and you won’t be disappointed. Here’s what 101 Holidays say about Vahine Island:

Just a stone’s throw from the island of Taha’a, this barefoot luxury escape hugs the white sands and coconut groves of Motu Tu Vahine (Island of the Woman) at the edge of the aquamarine lagoon. A 30 minute boat ride from Raiatea, Vahine Island Private Island Resort is a member of the esteemed ‘Small Luxury Hotels of the World’ collection and an intimate hideaway for only a handful of guests

I think when planning your honeymoon your priority needs to be doing something you both enjoy, my husband hates laying around on a beach doing nothing, whereas I could easily lay on a beach for 2 weeks reading and sipping cocktails. This island looks like utter perfection for me, watching the sunset with Bora Bora in the distance whilst eating amazing food (sounds like heaven). But if you want activities (because one of you perhaps needs to expel some energy!) then theres still plenty to do such as canoeing, snorkelling and reef tours.

If a mediterranean island is what you are craving then you must consider Corsica. The Grand Hotel Cala Rossa offers a Michelin starred restaurant, spa, beachside bar, private beach, and water sports. If you want to go all out, there is even a beautiful tree house to while away your hours, looking out over one of the most prestigious bays on the island. If you’re looking for an exclusive and intimate feel (and who isn’t on their honeymoon) then have a look through the images and I challenge you not to be tempted.

If you fancy a vibrant city then I am sure you have already considered Marrakech, you could squeeze in a few days here if you are just after a minimoon. You can find your perfect riad here. Fleewinter has handpicked some of the best riads Marrakech offers, fitting every price range so you are sure to find something to fit your budget and style.

Greece is one of my favourite places, the beaches, the water and the light are unparalleled. Ikos Aria is set in 47 acres of sprawling magical Kos coastline and for me, the interiors really do set this hotel above the rest. Absolute modern luxury meets traditional Greecian vibes this island will help you make memories to last a lifetime. Get that salty breeze going and have a look at the Ikos Aria.

Sat proudly in the Mediterranean sea is the beautiful island of Cyprus, it has a good climate for spring and autumn weddings so if you are seeking sun then add the Almyra, Paphos to your list. I love the description of the hotel:

Spectacularly located in eight acres of landscaped gardens on the edge of Paphos’ clear blue waters, Almyra, or ‘taste of the sea’, is a classic and timeless resort whose clean lines, soft shades and soothing natural tones exude a contemporary, minimalist chic.

I feel that minimalism is something you may be craving as a couple after all the business of wedding planning, juggling work and life to fit around dress fittings, family politics and various other stresses that arise whilst getting ready for the big day. The shops and castle are a short walk away from the hotel which is situated on the sea front so there is plenty to do for those of you who prefer some daily activities. But for those of us who like to eat, swim and sleep there are freshwater pools, four restaurants and calming serene bedrooms to spend your newly married days.

Bairro Alto Lisbon, would make an amazing city break for couples seeking something other than sun and sand. The hotel is set in one of Lisbon’s prettiest squares, making access to all the amenities of the bustling city exceptionally easy. You can enjoy cocktails on the roof top bar looking out across the Tagus estuary, relax in the sauna or spend hours in the beautifully styled hotel room.

Can you believe that the above image is Ireland? Discover the Wild Atlantic Way on your honeymoon, the journey runs from Kinsale in County Cork, all the way up the west coast to the Inishowen Peninsula in County Donegal, showcasing the drama and scenery of the west coast. If you’d rather be in the driving seat, literally, for your honeymoon then consider a tailor made touring holiday. With beautiful handpicked b&bs, hotels and cottages along the coast, your daily drives will take in the stunning scenery and end with a warm welcome and a comfy place to sleep, enjoy fresh seafood and chill out.

This wouldn’t be a honeymoon list without some amazing wildlife for the animal lovers amongst you, and what better than an amazing rainforest experience to Borneo? You will get to experience 10 days of coral reefs, seeing rescued orang-utans, then your private guide will help you spot wild ones deep in the rainforest. Then for the last few days you can enjoy time on the gorgeous beaches on the island. Sounds perfect right?

And finally, if you’re like me and fancy something a little closer to home then how about the beautiful Lake District? The Gilpin Hotel caters for those seeking luxury without the pretentiousness. Being able to choose from 1 Michelin starred restaurant, another incredible restaurant, a private hot tub, a lake house and exploring acres of incredible private grounds sounds like the idyllic retreat to me and The Lakehouse (which sleeps 12  but set on 100 acres) offers the feel of a private country house but comes with all the luxuries of a hotel.  For more ideas, check out 101 Honeymoons (https://www.101honeymoons.co.uk/)
