This girl and her gorgeous photography! Another beautiful shoot from Nicola, and an incredible team. Fiona at Firenza Flowers is unbelievably talented at what she does, and if you are in the north searching for a florist then make sure you click through to her site or find her on instagram.

I host styled shoot workshops for other photographers, and this shoot was my ninth. I have always had River Cottage on the list of wedding venue’s I would love to shoot a real wedding at. Until that point I thought the next best thing was organising a styled shoot there. Lucy, the events manager was super helpful hosting us and we were so well looked after by the chefs too – with both lunch and dinner at River Cottage we got the full experience.

Fiona of Firenza Floral Design was the first creative onboard. I love Fiona’s work and have had the pleasure of working with her a few times now. With her love of wild flowers and changing seasons I knew she too would get excited about spending the day at River Cottage. She created urns, bouquets, table flowers, dressed the cake and loaned some ceramics and other befitting bits and pieces to help make the styling complete.

It was hard not to incorporate food items on the table-scape given the location, and Sarah of Styling.Farm did a such wonderful job. The chunks of bread was a bit of after thought as we were served up the most amazing homemade bread and courgette soup at lunch time from the chefs on site… And there were a few chunks left! I loved how she added them to the styling! She is such a natural at creating beautiful scenes -it was a true laden table. The colour of Fiona’s florals made it look so autumnal, which was perfect as the weather turned misty and drizzly mid afternoon.

The models could not have fit been a better fit for the venue, and looked so good together. They had a natural connection which can sometimes be lacking when using models and asking them to pretend to be newlyweds! We were loaned two dresses by Cherry Williams which could not have been a better fit for the surroundings. Elegant yet simple.

I didn’t get Jo much of a brief for hair and make-up-I just showed her the colours of the flowers to give her something to work off. I worked with Jo the week before on a bridal shoot and was so impressed I knew she didn’t need much guidance. We added one of Eden b. Studio’s hair pieces for some of the shots to give it that wedding look.

The one tier naked cake with a gold leaf trim, dressed by Fiona looked stunning. Topped off with some freshly plucked golden raspberries found in the garden and fresh figs, it complimented the autumn colour palette so well.
