Well a merry Wednesday to you! I think this blog should just become a Nicola Dixon fan site. Her photography is just so gorgeous and she puts together the most stunning editorials. I adore the colour palette in this, Charlotte from Redamancy has such a good eye for the detailing. I really hope you love this editorial as much as I do.

I host styled shoot workshops for other photographers, and this shoot was my tenth.

I have visited Helmsley Walled Garden before, and the cafe area especially is beautiful. Its’ a greenhouse essentially, with real vines growing up the walls, lots of natural light and mis-matched chairs and tables it was a perfect setting for a styled shoot.

Charlotte from Redamancy was the first creative onboard. She is a talented stylist and I have worked with her before so knew I didn’t need to worry about anything. The details were perfect, the beeswax yellow candles and green plates from anthropolgie set the table off. She has such a good eye. The menus were made by Willow Beau, and all paper goods. The illustration and colours all fit so beautifully.

The florist was Sarah from styling. farm. Autumnal hints with oranges and reds for the bouquet. The table flowers were yellows and golds. The colour of Sarah’s florals made it look so autumnal, they made the table scape complete.

The models could not have fit been a better fit for the venue, and looked so good together. They had a natural connection which can sometimes be lacking when using models and asking them to pretend to be newlyweds! We were loaned dresses by Lace & Co in Wakefield which stock Rembo Styling dresses, which I was keen to have for this shoot. Rambo Styling make boho chic dresses which which could not have been a better fit for the surroundings.

I didn’t give Belle & Bride and Amy George much of a brief for hair and make-up-I just showed her the colours of the flowers and the dresses to give them something to work off. Joanna did two hair styles, we had planned a flower crown but it was blowing a gale outside so it wouldn’t have stayed put. She went with an up style and a down style. Mary-Ann, the model, had such long thick hair it would have been a shame to not take some photographs with it free-flowing.

The three tier cake with a gold trim, and mini cakes on the plates complimented the autumn colour palette so well.
