The Best of 2017 Christmas Candles | UK Wedding Blog

The best thing about Christmas? The ability to justify buying beautiful candles to enhance one’s winter Hygge (or, to ask for one in gift form if you can’t). Here’s my pick of the best for this year {and I did look for budget, I just felt underwhelmed by most of them – sorry for being a candle snob!}

There is a lot to get excited about this year from Diptyque – including these three beautiful limited edition candles based around the animals of the constellations by artist Philipe Baudelocque – Fiery Orange, Frosted Forest and Incense Tears (£28 for 70g, £48 for 190g each). For all three, there’s a set of minis for £82 here. If you are feeling spendy, there’s also the giant indoor/outdoor Baies (£300) and the Advent Calendar is still available (£300) if you are a hardcore candle enthusiast.

Jo Loves

Candied Citrus Fruits, caramelised brown sugar and crystallised ginger – for a Christmas candle good enough to eat take a look at the beautiful Plum Pudding from Jo Loves. One of two limited edition candles – if you prefer something earthier there’s also Christmas Trees, with fresh pine, lavender, amber and incense. £55 each, 185g, 37 hrs burn time.

Jo Malone

I’ve already posted about the Christmas collection here if you’d like to see it in full, but there’s plenty of candles to choose from, from sets of minis to this gorgeous stripy limited edition Green Almond and Redcurrant (£120, 420g).

If you enjoy a real spa-type home fragrance, you definitely need to try Neom if you haven’t already – always my diffuser of choice, and they have such a long lifespan. For christmas, choose from Perfect Peace (pine, myrrh and limepeel + a blend of 22 essential oils) or Christmas Wish (mandarin, cinnamon and tonka bean + 11 essential oils) – £45 each, 3 wick size. There’s also this beautiful rose gold candle cover which can be reused, and if you fancy an accompanying 3 wick candle, this set saves £10 on buying each separately.

Miller Harris

Spicy, woody, warm – business as usual for a Christmas Limited Edition and this pretty limited edition Sandalwood and Musk from Miller Harris. With a box designed by London-based artist Julie Verhoeven, this candle is a blend of natural and mineral waxes, and has a 40 hour burn time. £45.

If more classic, un-Christmassy festive candles are your bag, Byredo launch the Saints collection – three Red glass candles with red wax inspired by Catholic Church interiors. Rosewater, Incense and Altar are perfect for atmospheric elegance. £54 each, 240g.

Let me know which one is going on your Christmas list ( or if there are any budget gems out there I’m missing!)
