Time for some pretty lip colour today! I’ve mentioned a few bits from Glo & Ray in the past, as I happen to think they do some great products, particularly for their affordable price point, and as I also love to show some love to British indies who may not as readily come to the forefront of your attention as the big brands. These new Rouge Sticks are great for easy to apply colours on the go, and there’s some lovely wearable but interesting tones and textures too.
What are the claims?
“Nine mesmerising colours in three different finishes. Super-pigmented, these lipsticks are all about precision with their thin and smooth application. The formula has been specially designed to be moisturising yet hold a huge colour pay-off so you can tailor and build your colour“
There are 9 colours, with three finishes- gloss, shimmer and matte. They are –
True Fuchsia – bold, striking magenta
Poison Chanson- deep, rich crimson
Regal Tulip- burnt orange
Rosy Cedar- macaroon pink
Wood Fire- poppy red
Black Corydallis- dark, sobre purple
Viola Viola – pastel pink
Dreaming- Ballet slipper pink
Love Message- papaya red
These skinny lipsticks are easy to use, and the size does make a more precise and dense application easier, particularly with the stronger colours. I think the deepest colours being matte work well, as when you apply a dark lip, the last thing you want is glossy sheerness which keeps coming off! I’d still add a liner with any of the deepest shade, but these definitely make on the go simple. There are some interesting colours too – I wouldn’t personally wear Wood Fire as I’m too fair for orange tones, but it is a beautiful pumpkin tone which would look gorgeous on tan skin tones. The pinks are all super wearable, ranging from soft through to a little brighter.
The Rouge Lipsticks are £9.90 each, and available here.
