Love is in the air

Sorry I’ve been a bit absent with my posting as of late. I’ve been extremely busy both personally and professionally, which has meant I just haven’t had the chance to sit down and write a blog post for you all. However I’m here now, and ready to update you on the latest happenings.

First of all, as the title to this post would suggest, I really feel like love is in the air at the moment. A close friend of mine has just got engaged, and we’ve been celebrating her engagement, and one of my best friends has just got married. I LOVE love, not only does it bring two people together but it brings all their friends and family around them together too, and it just helps to spread joy and happiness.

My best friends wedding was just the perfect day. They did a complete DIY wedding and pulled it off so well, and the day was so personal to them. My highlights were the absolutely stunning bride (I’m biased, but I don’t care), the father of the bride speech that turned into a handwritten song accompanied with the ukelele, and the groom performing for everyone with his band. It was so special, and it just makes me so excited for our wedding, which is now officially the next wedding we’ll go to!

Love is also really in the air for me and Paddy too. There’s been times when I’ve written previous blog posts where I really haven’t felt like it, because we haven’t been at our best. Planning a wedding can be stressful at times and throw moving house into the mix and it becomes all the more difficult. But now, we’re more united and in love than ever and it makes planning our wedding even more exciting.

Although I’ve been really busy, that’s not to say we haven’t made progression with the wedding. We’ve started looking at rings and have ordered mine, we’ve made enquiries about bands (they’ve been really slow in coming back to us – anyone else experienced this?), my hair trial is booked, my dad has officially booked our honeymoon (see here for more details), I’ve started collecting smaller things like a cake stand, garter and hair accessories, I’ve picked my shoes (more on this to follow) and my hen do invitation has arrived!

I’m getting so excited for my hen party, we’re going away quite early compared to the wedding, but I wanted to go somewhere hot so we’re going to Barcelona in September! I will blog about this next to give you all the details of what’s to come.

If there’s anything you’d like me to blog about along the way please do let me know and I can try cover it from my point of view for you! In the meantime, you can see more of the photos I’ve shared today and keep up with my wedding planning by visiting my Instagram.
