an Isle of Skye elopement | uk wedding blog

Good morning all, from the mountains of Slovenia yesterday, to a hand tying ceremony along the rugged coast of Skye today…who knows where we will be tomorrow? Hint. It is Yorkshire.

James and Leoni eloped to the Isle of Skye with just their two children and two friends, for a very intimate ceremony on the hillside. They followed the ceremony with a meal at The Three Chimneys. As you can imagine there aren’t many suppliers involved in an elopement, it seems quite tempting doesn’t it? And their whole day came in under £1000.

Chi Chi London Tea Dress (white ¾ length lace dress), Brown Boots (due to being outside) however some stunning purple heels for our evening meal.

Being outside getting married amongst the elements made out wedding feel very personal/intimate which was just how we wanted it to be.  Standing on top of the Quiraing with my now husband looking out at and only seeing mountains, sea, lochs and the clear blue sky was something that we will never forget and is so unique. Also there was no stress involved trying to make sure everyone was happy.

Do want you want to do, don’t think about what everyone wants. It is your day enjoy it and do something you have always wanted to do.

Where did you find your inspiration?

Roz and Norma’s (Euphoria Photography) website, once we saw those photos of other couples elopements. This was what we wanted the couples looked so happy and free, and the landscape and photographs were so beautiful it wasn’t that difficult to decide this was what we wanted.
