Afternoon all! Manchester town hall is one of my favourite wedding venues. I adore the gorgeous bee mosaic floor and the stunning architecture. Today’s wedding is a total gem, I love the blush pink, the luxe feeling and the authenticity captured by Mike. Plus those Louboutins…wedding shoe goals. Oli and Aimee took their love of food and translated it through their day, they ate in their favourite restaurant with all of their loved ones around them, I would have loved to have been a guest for the six course tasting menu which looks delicious. The story of how they met their photographer is also so very wonderfully serendipitous.  Enjoy!

Aimee had a hand tied bouquet of roses in varying shapes and sizes. Including pale pink bombastic spray roses, white hydrangea clusters, ivory peonies, sweet avalanche roses and Keira David Austin roses in shades of pale pink, blush and ivory. Finished with ivory lace.

The bridesmaids had Gypsophila bouquets. Finished with ivory lace.

Oli had A pale pink rose with a touch of white hydrangea detail.

They were provided by The Flower Lounge in Didsbury.

Bridesmaid dresses were from In One Clothing. They were multiway dresses. One of the bridesmaids had a baby two months before the wedding, and another had a baby 5 months before so both were still breast feeding so these dresses allowed them to wear the dresses however the felt comfortable.

Manchester Town Hall. We met at the Christmas Markets in front of the Town Hall and in fact in front of the Lords Mayors Parlour where we got married. Once we had a closer look at the venue we fell in love with it even more.

The French Restaurant @ The Midland Hotel, we love fine dining and this is our favourite restaurant in the city.

Didsbury House Hotel for the reception. We also used Eleven Didsbury Hotel for the night before the wedding and Aimee stayed at King Street Townhouse in the city centre the night before. We love the hotels, the interiors and touches in the rooms are fantastic. The fact we could also take some of them over exclusively for us was great.

Hermes Ties for the Groomsmen and father of the Bride and the Bridesmaid dresses were gifts for the wedding party. Macaroons for all of our guests from the French. And Bollinger Rose the mother of the bride and groom and maid of honour.

The food! To see all of guests eating at our favourite restaurant was amazing. The atmosphere we will never forget and everyone forgot about the awful weather outside.

We had a signature 6 course tasting menu from The French. There is one dish we’ve always loved since it first opened, the Smoked Ox so we made sure we had this along with 5 other courses created by Adam Reid the head chef. The wines were paired from Champagne with the canapes to a Pinot Gris for the scallop and cod dish. The red was a pinot noir for the chicken with confit egg and a Frizante for the two desserts.

Mike Plunkett @ Mike Plunkett Photography. The story of how we met Mike was a good one. On a train home from a meeting in London Oli glanced over and saw a man looking trough wedding photographs. He asked who took them as they looked stunning, little did he know Mike who was sitting next to him had taken them all and was actually finishing the editing for another client.

Fate came into play as Mike had only sat in the seat next to Oli as he gave up his previous seat so a couple so they could sit next to one another. The following week Aimee met Mike and he was hired! His photographs really made the wedding, we always knew the venues would be impressive but capturing them and the memories is very hard. Mike did a perfect job, we would recommend him to anyone.

Cakes by Karen. We had multiple layers. Salted caramel, raspberry and rose, white chocolate,, oreo brownie, earl grey and lavender. We topped this with a pale pink peony from the florist.

Straight after the wedding we went to Dubai for 10 days to relax on the beach, for our full honeymoon we are off to South Africa for the vineyards and safari next year.

Don’t think about what your guests want or how your guests are getting on on the day, its your day. Focus on what you want, and enjoy your day, its over before you know it. Also, get a recording done. Id love to watch the day back again.
