Morning! Ooooo we have a gorgeous wedding on the blog today. Sarah is wearing one of my favourite wedding dresses, I love the detailing of the lace and the button back, I think it adds something a little boho to quite an elegant silhouette. The bridal prep photos at The Rosewood are beautiful, the hotel makes for such an elegant backdrop. James looks exceptionally dashing in his navy suit, and I am loving the polka dot tie. They opted for quite a relaxed botanical theme with palm print stationery, foliage flowers and mixed metallics, it all worked exceptionally well. I hope you enjoy!

Ceremony – St James Church Clerkenwell London
Reception – Eight Moorgate – www.eightclub.co.uk/moorgate
Bridal prep – Rosewood Hotel London
We both LOVE London so knew that we wanted to get married here! after we got engaged we were wondering around Clerkenwell (where we both live) and decided to pop into St James Church to have a look. As soon as we walked in we both fell in Love with the Church and knew it was the place we wanted to get married at. Andrew the Vicar was so lovely and we decided it was the place.
Our Church was part of Clerkenwell design week earlier in the summer and Tom Dixon had shown all of his work in the church including a beautiful chandelier. Most of his things he kindly donated to the church so were still in the church for our wedding and fitted perfectly with our gold and copper theme.
My bridesmaids and I stayed at the Rosewood hotel the night before the wedding as a treat and it was the best experience. The hotel is exquisite and was the prettiest background to our getting ready photos. it really made the morning of the wedding relaxing and luxurious.
James had heard of Eight club as a reception venue so we decided to go and check it out on sunny evening. It really had the wow factor as soon as we walked in. It was cool and chic and feel of the venue was perfect for us.
Hair – I knew that I wanted a really natural look for the Wedding and wanted my hair to be down. I found Amy via the website and booked her for a trial. I had some images saved of Rosie from MIC and it turned out she had done Rosies hair before! Amy knew exactly the look I was after. Really relaxed waves (although these didn’t last long in the rain) and Pip my florist had wired some flowers to pin into my hair too.
Make up – Anna is a friend and also works for Bare Minerals. She had done a few friends wedding make up and has a really natural style. The Trial was perfect as was the wedding day. Really soft colours and she made me look like me which was very important!
Shoes from ninewest
I knew from the moment that I got engaged that would my Dress from Rime Arodaky. I love her style and didn’t want anything too traditional. The Olsen dress was a perfect mix of elegance and rock and roll. I also wanted the dress to fit with the London City wedding feel. As soon as I tried the Olsen dress on i knew it was the one.
Veil from Britten
Salma dress,Taylor dress, Sofia dress from Ghost
Flower girl dresses from Marks & Spencer
The bridesmaids dresses complimented my dress perfectly. I loved the Oyster/Champagne colour of the ghost dresses. The girls each had a different style dress to fit their style and I liked the mix and match look.
Pip from botanique workshop – Exmouth market London – Pip did such an amazing job with the flowers. We wanted them really relaxed and wild looking. The colour scheme was a soft pink, creams and lots of greenary. I had a pop of a deeper pink in my bouquet whilst the bridesmaids had simple cream, soft pink and greens. We loved the reception tables which had vintage jars and vases full of the beautiful flowers.
My favourite moment was the ceremony. From Walking down the aisle, seeing our friends, family and James to then saying my vows. It was the best moment ever. And Andrew our Vicar did a wonderful service which was very personal to us.
Doughnuts – from Cakehole London – To keep everyone refreshed after the ceremony we put on a mix of Aperol spritz, gin and tonics and doughnuts at the church which worked well.
Suit from Edit Suits
Tie from New Look
shoes from Aldo Mr B’s
James chose a simple navy suit with waistcoat which he had custom made and a New Look pin spot tonal navy tie. His shoes were black patent from Aldo Mr B’s. He wanted to feel smart but still comfortable.
Photography by Krishanthi – We absolutely LOVED Krish and Joey. They helped to make the day really relaxed and easy for us. It was as if they were our close friends there for the day and we hardly noticed them taking all of the amazing photos they took. They really did capture every special moment of the day and we love the feel of the photos which are really relaxed and exactly what we wanted. The photos are better than we could have wished for.
We didn’t really have a theme for the wedding. We used the palm print from our invites and continued that print through the rest of the stationary which made our theme botanical I guess and we had touches of gold and copper throughout.
Laura Neads Design – My best friends sister Laura is a very talented graphic designer so we asked her to design the stationary which was inspired by House of Hackney/Bourne and Hollingsworth style. We loved the palm print idea and felt that this worked well with the venue and style of the wedding. We added touches of rose gold which added a bit of glamour.
The food and drink was amazing at our food tasting at Eight Club. We could have chosen the whole menu but decided on Ham hock or courgette tempura to start, Steak and Chips for the main with white chocolate and lime tart for dessert.
The Tom Fitzpatrick Band – A friend from Church kindly played the keyboard and sang I cant help falling in love with you by Ingrid Michaelson whilst we signed the register. that was a lovely moment.
After the wedding breakfast and speeches we had our first dance which was My Girl and then Tom Fitzpatrick and his band played for us. They were so fun and got everyone on the dance floor. He played a mix of Jazz, swing, ratpack and pop music so it was the perfect dancing music for everyone.
We actually copied the honey moon from some friends after seeing photos of/hearing about their experience. We wanted a short flight and something super relaxing so Mykonos and Santorini were the perfect places. We did 5 days in each place and loved the food, wine, views to die for and sunshine. It was pure bliss and well needed after wedding planning!
Enjoy it and don’t stress. We were really chilled out until 2 weeks before when there seemed like there was so much to do but in the end it all worked out perfectly (even with all day rain) so I would say try to enjoy every moment along the way.
