Afternoon all! You may have seen this morning we introduced our first new blogging bride Claire, you can catch up on that here. And now we get to look at some pretty wedding inspiration, lots of greens, soft textures and metallics. The shoot was styled by Helen from Pudding Bridge (the name may ring a bell because I borrowed that amazing sequin linen for Christmas) and I feel this is exactly what we need on a grey February day.
I wanted to create a relaxed, stylish look for a shoot that combined natural elements with soft, ethereal material and mixed metallic tones. My background is in fashion design, so I’ve always been drawn to beautiful fabrics. Located at the edge of my home town, Bradford-on-Avon, Widbrook Grange is a hidden gem surrounded by 11 acres of private grounds and beautifully tended gardens. Providing the perfect location for our shoot, its stunning conservatory overflows with natural light. Our photographer, Lucy, was in heaven!
Pudding Bridge is all about instant glamour, so I created a decadent tablescape using an array of natural textures alongside opulent materials like mercury glass and crystal. Using a wooden tabletop, I layered a stunning silk runner beneath a foliage garland created by Caroline at Foxy Buds.
With excess fabric pooling on the floor below, a traditionally rustic look was given a sophisticated, contemporary feel. Candles flickering in glass votives and beautiful stationery by de Winton Paper Co provided the perfect finishing touch. Imagining the kind of bride who’d be drawn to the look we’d created, we knew we had to dress our model in shoes by Charlotte Mills. I adore her attention to detail and the sixpence paired with a poem on the sole is such a sweet touch. A bouquet from Foxy Buds completed the look.
