Good morning lovely reader. My weekend edit will be up later today. But for now, we get a very pretty wedding for some timeless and elegant inspiration. Today’s real wedding is so very en trend for 2017 (trends post will be up on Wednesday!) and full of lots of lovely details. Helaina and Alex embraced their heritage to inject a little Italian-British style in to their day, homemade limoncello is always welcome!

H – It was the first moment we were both stood at the alter together after my dad had shaken Jarv’s hand. I remember standing there and looking at Jarv feeling all my nerves and worries disappear and I totally relaxed. It was a few moments after that the priest had accidentally called out the wrong middle name for Jarv which made everyone laugh … it was the beginning of the best day of my life so far…
J – Having so many of our closest friends and family together in one place to celebrate such a momentous occasion was fantastic. All the planning, expense, sleepless nights – worth it a million times over!! Amidst all that effort H also managed to look absolutely beautiful walking down the aisle and I am a very lucky man.

I wanted to go for an elegant, romantic, chic look to suit the Rhinefield. I loved the black board and chalk theme which I tried to include in the table plan and table numbers and place settings too. Also, as my family are Italian we tried to inject some of the Italian traditions in too, for example, homemade limoncello for every guest, homemade Sicilian red wine (grandad has been making this wine for years and he sadly passed away soon after this wedding batch was made so we all made a toast with his wine during the speeches). Also we made Bonbonniere’s (5 x sugared almonds which represent Health, Happiness, Wealth, Fertility and Long Life).
The venue was Rhinefield Hotel.

Bridesmaids were from Dessy and the flower girls were from John Lewis.

The cake was from Alison’s Cakes for all Occasions

Homemade (lethal) Limoncello!! Got the guests suitably merry by the end of the meal!
Bonbonniere’s made for all ladies
Also, homemade Italian Red Wine for the table. Family tradition.
