Honeymooning at Hilton Seychelles Northolme | UK WEDDING BLOG

Arriving at Hilton Northolme we were amazed by the tropical almost jungley backdrop. It’s an all villa resort built into the hills in the north of Mahe, the main island. Northolme is one of the oldest original resorts in the Seychelles and I love the history. Ian Fleming was a fan and it was here that he felt inspired to write ‘For Your Eyes Only’. Of course when you’re here there’s nothing old about it now it’s been remodelled but there’s still a whiff of classy, old school charm about it. The decor a luxe tropical vibe…

It’s a truly magical setting, the villas feel like your own exclusive spacious tree houses along the board walks. Some with private pools, all with terraces with loungers overlooking the sea. I loved how the villas felt secluded, they’ve been cleverly designed. It’s adults only here and the whole resort is a lot smaller and more boutique than Hilton Seychelles Labriz.

The resort is centred around the impressive infinity pool that looks out over the turquoise bay. It’s fringed with palms and pretty pink Bougainville with terraces for sunbathing on and ordering cocktails.

We didn’t want to leave the pool area but some days the beach beckoned. There are two white sand cove beaches here also complete with the famous Seychelles boulders which competed with that pool for our afternoons. There are kayaks and snorkels to take out as you wish and the water is crystal clear. Even standing above you can see the fish!

So dreamy.

The three restaurants all have views to die for. The Ocean pool bar perfect for lunches, low key dinners and drinks along with Les Cocotiers for finer a la carte dinners. We loved the Hilltop restaurant for breakfast looking out through the palms with everything you could wish for. The build your own mimosa station was a fun idea and the pastries were as good as those you’d find in France. The buffet options for dinner here were also very good and very fresh with fresh seafood cooked in front of you.

There’s a well equipped gym and spa just below the pool. And If you fancy a walk then the beauty of being on the main island are the local towns. You can walk 3km along the famous long north beach to Beau Vallon for a change of scene or go twenty minutes the other way to find hidden coves. But we actually didn’t leave the resort, it was so relaxing and beautiful.

Northolme is the perfect aspect to watch the sunset across the water, we were unfortunate to have cloudy evenings but the photos from a few days before looked incredible.

I loved the relaxed yet grown up vibe here and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to you as the start of a Seychelles honeymoon. It’s just a half an hour drive from the airport so personally I’d say to spend two to three nights here then catch the boat over to Labriz for the rest to get a mixture of the two.
