So we’re now 5 weeks and 2 days away from W-day and I’ve gotten so much done since we got back from Italy.
Groomsmen and parents gifts have been bought (I’m dying to share but don’t want to ruin the surprise!), I’ve had another dress fitting and it’s *almost* ready, the table plan has been confirmed and the physical one for the day been made, groomsmen outfits sorted (black tie), amongst what seems like a million more things. Mike and I actually practised tying his bowtie last night and who knew it was so hard! Safe to say a text to all of the groomsmen quickly followed asking them to please get a LOT of practise in tying their own before the wedding.
In terms of our stationary, I ordered our place cards from Moo last week. I designed all 115 of them individually and printed them as mini business cards which will be placed in the forks on every place setting, alongside the ‘wed-lib’ cards I designed and had printed (at printed.com) a few months ago. I’ve also designed and printed ‘order of the weekend newspapers’ from The Newspaper Club which I’m super excited about – I can’t wait for our guests to read them.
I had my hair and make up trial last week and although there are a few tweaks to be made (getting rid of the liquid foundation for one – my skin just can’t stand it), I’d say overall I’m pleased and extremely glad I did a trial beforehand, otherwise I wouldn’t have known what needed to be changed. I also discovered a new favourite lipstick, Mac’s Velvet Teddy (late to the party, I know) which I plan to wear on the day.
I’ve been in touch with the photographer and videographer to confirm timings, as well as the photo booth guys (psst – these guys are providing the photo booth and it looks amazzzing).
All of this on top of helping plan Mikes stag weekend which was last weekend (he came back a broken man so it all went to plan!), and starting to plan and book my BFF’s hen party for next April.
Next on my list of things to do is take my engagement ring in for a clean, sort a kennel out for Maxxy dog (his first time, eek!), source some large buckets to keep the flowers watered overnight and buy the last bits and pieces.
But…not before my hen party which starts Friday! I’m SO excited. I’ve waited 8 long, patient months for it. It’s all been a secret from me since day one and I have no idea what’s planned for the weekend, I just know there is lots planned. I’ve been told to pack everything so as not to give anything away so although I’ll only be away for 3 nights, I’ll be packing for a two-week holiday no doubt. So far I’ve been told to pack a hippie outfit for Saturday night and been given a very pared back schedule…
As I say, I’m dying to share everything but can’t include any photo’s as I know there are some eyes on the blog who will be coming to the wedding.
I do promise to blog every last detail afterwards though – I can’t wait and I’ll definitely be blogging all about my hen party, whatever’s in store for me…
