April Beauty Must Haves |UK Wedding Blog

I’ve absolutely loved looking through #marriedmay so far {if this is new to you ~ where have you been?! Find out more here!} ~ and yesterday (day 5) was your chance to share your beauty must haves, so I thought in honour of this I’d share my own April beauty must haves, some old and some brand spanking new.

The Brand

So this was the epic month that NYX counters rolled out up and down the UK in Boots, and what a glorious time to be alive it was! NYX has been a social media success which has been knocking around for a long time, but has managed to totally rebrand itself from what it once was to become an esteemed Instagram/beauty blogger/makeup artist line of choice. It’s taken a while to reach us here, but it’s finally here, in all of it’s bargain-buy, super pigmented glory. I am hooked on the Liquid Suede Lipsticks (a liquid lipstick a la Lime Crime, ABH etc but a snip of the cost at £6.50!) ~ I’ve so far bought Soft Spoken (first image below) Tea & Cookies (soft petal pink), Amethyst (incredibly vibrant violet, second image below) and Kitten Heels (classic red) .

PicMonkey CollageI’m also loving the Black Mousse Eyeliner, which is mega black but super light in texture and glides on like a dream, and the eyebrow gel in Brunette – it does give a heavier brow look than I usually achieve with powder but for full face days it’s fab.

Fragrance

Beautiful limited edition spring fragrance Jo Malone Nanshi Blossom has been my day wear fragrance of choice for the last few weeks – with sweet notes like pear sitting alongside White Musk, and crisp lemon and apple, this is a fresh, vibrant citrus perfume which is light, sparkling and perfect for sunny days and warmer nights.  If you like fragrances like Issey Miyake this will be something you’ll love. Plus the bottle is amazing – with an apple green colour pop lid and a geometric print, this is perfect on your dressing table!

Highlighter

Illamasqua Beyond Powders are gorgeous, rich metallic highlighting powders well worth a mention. Choose Champagne Shimmer for fairer skin tones, and bronze toned OMG for medium to dark. These can be used wet for a sheen (and I’ve been using on the centre of the eyelid for eyeshadow) or dry for a more subtle powdery effect.

Skincare

Charlotte Tilbury Magic Night Cream is a new addition to my beauty pile – I’m only a few days in so I can’t give a verdict but I can tell you it wasn’t what I expected! More a super rich balm than a cream, this is dense, luxe and rich. My skin has been feeling generally good but still a little dehydrated so I’m ready for this in my life. I’ll keep you posted!

Brushes

The endlessly instagrammable Zoeva Rose Gold Complete Eye Set  is finally in my life, and it was a great purchase. I was in dire need of more crease brushes, and slanted brow and liner brushes always have a place in my kit and my life. The short brow brush is fab for precision work, and there isn’t a brush in here that I haven’t already had loads of use out of. Well worth the £65 price tag – the only thing I don’t need is the bag, but if you don’t have a brush belt like me I imagine you will!

The Haircare

I’ve just bought the Mane N Tail Shampoo and Conditioner whilst I was in Liberty’s lovely beauty hall, and I’ve high hopes for this, as I have had client who swore by it! My hair is pretty thin and lack lustre, so if a thicker, fuller, longer mane could appear as promised that would be amazing (unlikely but you never know!) If you’ve had results from this do let me know!

Keep sharing your must haves with us on Instagram, we all love to read them when you do!

  • Some great picks here! Enjoyed reading about them (even though I have no plans to get married any time soon).

Don’t worry Joanne, neither do I! These definitely aren’t bride specific 🙂 x
