Cream blushers are great all year round for a healthy flush of buildable colour to the skin – easy to use, giving a real healthy second skin effect – and if you find you are pushed for time when getting ready or have particularly dry skin and your powder blusher regularly looks or wears patchy, a fluid blush could be your new best friend. I love using them on my brides – beautiful pastel washes of colour look amazing for your wedding day, offering weather-resistant long wearing colour. The perfect investment for quick and easy multipurpose holiday/ honeymoon products too, as you can often double up and use as a lip colour. My tip when using cream blusher – if you enjoy that radiant effect but want longevity to your makeup you’ll want to to set it – but as even the finest finishing powder will always dull the dewy a little, try a fixing spray instead to keep everything in place whilst keeping the glow (Urban Decay and Makeup Forever do great setting sprays)
Here are five of my tried and tested faves ~
Illamasqua Cream Blusher – 6 shades available, £22
Never one to shy away from bold tones, there are some great highly pigmented shades which are perfect for darker skin tones, along with some beautiful neutrals for fair – medium skin. Use under foundation for a soft “glow from within” effect, or over the top of base for those of you who love a good cheek!
Daniel Sandler Watercolour Fluid Blush – 16+ shades available, £15.50
This multi-award winning product is a liquid blush unlike no other and the range of tones is second to none. The perfect amount of light reflecting radiance gives a lift to any skin age and type and the shade guide makes it easy to pick a colour to suit your tone. A cult hit for a reason!
Liz Earle Healthy Glow Cream Blush ~ 5 colours available, £16.50
Enriched with Vitamin E for skin softening benefits, these blush colours are all soft and natural tones in keeping with the-you-but-better Liz Earle signature look – apply with finger tips and smooth onto the apples for a simple healthy flush.
Becca Beach Tint – 9 shades available, £20
Definitely not just for the beach, and a new staple in my kit, these beach tints are beautiful – a water resistant crème stain which is super versatile – I used shade Watermelon on a model on a shoot recently for a natural just bitten lip and it didn’t budge for hours. Great range of colours for all skin tones too.
Bourjois Blush Exclusif ~ £7.99
My budget buy would be this super cute Bourjois blush – one colour, but using PH reactive ingredients it self adjusts to a bespoke pink shade to match your skin tone and give a fresh glow. I’d possibly suggest this is better for fairer skin tones due to its blue toned pink shade, although Bourjois do offer other Cream Blush colours for all skin tones here.
Are there any other cream blushers that you love which I need to know about?
