Morning!! How was the weekend? That thunderstorm on Friday night was just crazy. It woke me up at about 3am, the windows shaking, dog howling, sky illuminate…husband…still fast asleep. Naturally, I woke him up to inform him of the end of the world.
I will leave most of the words to Sam from Paper Angel Photography, but I hope you enjoy a touch of vintage. It is always lovely to see creatives come together for the purpose of generating something inspiring.

For as long as I could remember, I’d always wanted to find some awesome suppliers and do a styled shoot! Put all the ideas together and come up with an amazing concept! Once I met Hannah from Bride n Bloom who shared the same ideas. We knew we were on the same page and wanted to create a colourful outdoor, ribbon filled shoot with furniture, flower crowns and beautiful vintage dresses. We pinned like crazy to put all these ideas together and started the hunt for other suppliers to work with.
Hannah of bride and bloom is lovely, really easy-going , a bit like her flowers! Hannah sources locally grown british flowers to use in her arrangements, which lends itself perfectly to her wild and natural style of flowers.
Buying British flowers though, is more than just a look or style…. They smell amazing!!! Unlike imported flowers they are literally cut from a field a couple of days before your wedding!! In fact buying British almost guarantees a bouquet like no other as “homegrown” flowers just aren’t readily available to “high-street” florists. You’ll also be improving your own carbon footprint as brit flowers travel a fraction of those that are imported and of course you’ll be supporting local business and biodiversity!
For the dresses and suits – we knew we wanted something different, unique and vintage. Lynda from Rock Follies Vintage in Worcester was just the lady! Along with all her vintage clothing, for men and women – she has a selection of original vintage bridal gowns!!! Original!!!! Oh my… They were just perfect! On the day Lynda used her experience to style the models in a selection of dresses and suits. What a gem she is! If you want something different to wear on your wedding day – then this is the lady to talk to!
Location was so important – It needed to be outdoors, a beautiful location where we could hang ribbons from trees, set up a table with hanging lamp shades and take advantage of the beautiful surroundings. Not far from my home is Spetchley Park Gardens. We took a visit and fell in love immediately! The beautiful location had everything – so much in fact – that we had to plan our day in the certain areas we wanted to use. There was a lot to get done!
We had also found John, who has a little furniture shop in Worcester. He revamps old furniture and was keen to help us out with all the furniture, tables and props for our shoot! It was such fun choosing the pieces we wanted to use – we could have literally taken half his shop!
All models had hair and make-up professionally done by Emma and Sophie… both super skilled in their own right!
