This was our third year of being invited to the annual Tie the Knot event with jeweller Alex Monroe but boy do the new collections just keep getting prettier and prettier…

It was my first time for attending and I naively, only really thought of Alex Monroe as being synonymous with the classic bumble bee necklace and delicate crafted jewellery based around nature. But what I didn’t realise was that everything is made in the UK {and designed in the studio above}, so every single piece is unique to an extent and also how absolutely gorgeous their engagement and wedding rings are?!! I was like a magpie last week swooning over different coloured gem stones, everything so shiny and beautiful yet refined and delicate with a quirky, almost organic twist at the same time.

In my head I was wondering if it would be wrong to buy a new engagement ring and maybe swap them around every month or so. Phoebe had the same idea and we were both lusting over these sparkly rocks!

There are plenty of options for men too with the Mr Monroe collection. You can have wedding bands in different metals that can be made to compliment your rings. And there are bespoke options, Alex, yep we met the real Alex Monroe, said that he gets a number of guys coming to him wanting to design something special for their fiancées to be {lucky lucky girls!!}. I really love the thought that goes into every piece. There are also cuff links which would be a perfect gift to give to your soon to be husband on the morning of your wedding day.

The boutique was just my kind of place with the collections cleverly displayed over vintage props like old books, glass bottles, in little drawers.

The whole thing was just so perfect and I came away with a huge wish list to try and subtlety drop hints to my husband over the coming months. While I love the choices we made for our wedding, with this job I just keep discovering more and more brands that I love and wish I’d known about a few years back! But I guess that’s what anniversaries and birthdays are for! I feel like a lot of Alex’s jewellery isn’t specifically bridal so you could add it into your collection at any time in life.

You can find the new collection in Liberty of London now or in the Alex Monroe store or gradually online here. And if you’ve been with your partner for a while now, it won’t hurt to start dropping hints that you know the perfect little place if he was ever, y’know thinking about ring shopping…

It’s also worth reading this lovely Q&A with Alex himself if you’re thinking about your wedding jewellery and this handy Guide to Diamonds.

{P.s a little May-time bouquet inspiration. Sums up this time of year perfectly with the fresh greens and creams don’t you think?…}

Let us know what you’re lusting over. I’m off to have another browse!
