Morning all, you are in for a double treat today with an engagement shoot this morning then a real wedding this afternoon. I really keep getting blown away by the submissions I have had lately. So many talented suppliers and couples working together to create such gorgeous, happy days! Makes my job awesome.
You know when your photographer says to you “I know, let’s find a cold, snowy hilltop to do your engagement photos!”. Andy and Gemma are a lot more willing than I am to venture out in the cold first thing, but doesn’t it make for stunning photos.
Andy & Gemma have a keen eye for design; their home is full of choice pieces of art, furniture and lighting. It’s safe to say they know what they like and what they don’t like. We toyed with a few ideas for their pre-wedding shoot but we really wanted to push the boat out for something unique which is when we suggested a shoot in this abandoned quarry. It had the huge landscape, big skies and structural forms that made it such an interesting place to shoot in a relatively small area.
When we headed out on the morning, it was crisp sunshine and powdery snow underfoot – just gorgeous. Andy and Gemma fully embraced the conditions and we were able to make the most of the big backdrops and create beautifully lit, intimate portraits.
We’re now eagerly anticipating their wedding April to see what new and exciting portraits we can create with them on the big day.
