Well, this is a rather lengthy post! There are some trends that are sticking around from last year such as 1920s, Gatsby, Rustic, Barn-fete Style and Vintage. 2014 is the year of statements, big florals, big decor, bright colours and lots of home-made sparkle. I hope you enjoy, please let me know if you are already planning on having any of these!
Whilst a lot of brides still prefer a nude, pale and natural lip for the ceremony, here has been a big shift towards a brighter lip for the evening celebration. Look at Mac, YSL and Chanel for seasonal brights. Spend a little time at a make up counter finding your perfect shade, if in doubt wait until you meet up with your make up artist. Loving this trend a lot.
I am afraid I am saying no to the Pantone colour of 2014 ‘Radiant Orchid‘ which in my opinion is merely a glorified lilac and I have never been a fan. Instead we have mint green for Spring/Summer. Mixed metallics and a beautiful dark blue for Autumn/Winter. Lots of bronze, gold, copper, rose gold, pewter, silver and sparkle work with both palettes.

Everything shall be a little larger this year. From initals, to stars, to moons. Statement pieces will be scattered around venues to draw attention, excellent for photo opportunities and conversation starters. Potted plants are such a wonderful idea, easy to DIY, excellent favours, place names, table numbers and they look pretty. You can keep it green and simple with succulents or en trend ferns or make it season with herbs or flowers. And hellllsss yessssss to sequin table cloths. Even if its just for your cake, worth it for the added glamour. We now have a UK stockist the wonderul Pudding Bridge.

Detailing and sleeves. Head to Miss Bush. Thats all you need to know.
I could write about flowers all day, my knowledge of them is still quite basic, but they make my heart flutter. Ferns for foliage will be big in 2014, see Bloomingayles work of A/W 2013 for fern prettiness. There will be flower garlands, and wreaths which add such a lovely element to an empty wall, or back of a chair. They can also be easily transported from ceremony to evening venue. And bouquets will be big, loose, relaxed, free form and asymmetrical. YUM.

Street food will still be making its emergence this year, macarons are still going strong and so will the mighty marshmallow! These are like no other, I have personally sampled the Art of Mallow and they are just indescribable. Something different, and something local.

Stationery will be typography heavy, especially this whole chalk libation type font. Does it have a correct name? Please leave it in the comments if it does.
So there we go, 2014 wedding trends. You know what that means? Tomorrows post is trends to abolish. Uh-oh!!
