a seaside wedding in Brighton and a Sikh celebration in Windsor | uk wedding blog

An exceptionally beautiful bride, a very handsome groom, and two weddings worth of colour, detail and most importantly, love. Please sit back and enjoy this wedding bonanza and leave a little love.

Sukhey and Jamie celebrated getting married this summer with not just one but two wedding days – the first was a traditional English seaside wedding at the Grand Hotel in Brighton, and the second was a traditional Sikh ceremony and celebration in Windsor.   It was a real meeting of family and cultures, as guests got to enjoy a typical day at the seaside (complete with cloudy sky, howling gales and rain) at the first wedding; and then a full on Sikh celebration full of music, dancing and the most incredible food throughout the day!  Sukhey & Jamie put a lot of work into both weddings, and full credit goes to Sukhey who made sure we got into the beach for some photographs despite the freezing weather!  The Sikh celebration started the day before with the traditional cleansing ceremony (or Meiya), the bangle ceremony (Churra) and then the big pre-wedding knees up which is the Jaggo ceremony.  The Sikh wedding day itself was a riot of colour and music, with Dhol drummers and the most beautiful coloured outfits.  It was a photographer’s dream and was such a treat to photograph these two very different but equally amazing days of celebration!   – Sara Reeve (photographer)
