Although I am not a major fan of “theme-ing” a wedding, I think that looking to what inspires you, or what you find utterly beautiful is a great place to start. Whether its your love of literature, festivals or buttons, it can all be incorporated in to your wedding, making it unique to you as a couple.
Here are some trends and styles that will be big in 2012. Of course vintage is sticking around, no matter what bloggers say, however, it is getting a lot more era-specific. A little less shabby vintage and more towards the glamour seen in the 40s for example.

Diamonds, feathers, jazz, fur, lipstick, lace, caps, art-deco, large bouquets, drop waists, capped sleeves, double breasted suits and finger waves. For the perfect 1920s inspired dress visit Jenny Packham and Johanna Johnson for inspiration. Influenced by Downton Abbey (although on the cusp of the 20s) and The Great Gatsby. Choosing a venue to fit is also possible, lots of art deco and glamour
Last year saw a rise in popularity of all things striped at a wedding, now it’s the turn of the chevron.
Any colour, any size, cakes, stationery, ties… possibilities are endless.

Just send them off to buy a dress! Perhaps not that straight forward, but I do adore the top image from Molly Simms wedding.
If you aren’t going to be wearing flowers in your hair, you can still be en trend with a statement headpiece. Whether its a 20s lace cap or vintage diamond tiara, a headpiece is the perfect cherry on your beautiful bridal cake.
