Ever since I got married I have be fascinated with flowers. We always have fresh flowers at home, and now that I have my own home (finally) I have done the same. However, I have been struggling to find my kind of florist up in Leeds (suggestions on a postcard) so when I saw Fairy Nuff Flowers, I eagerly clicked on her location…and I was once again devestated. She lived in Hampton Hill. Damn. So here is a bit more about the wonderful Steph.

A bit of history about you:
I am married to my gorgeous Northern graphic designing husband and live in Hampton Hill with our two cats, Milly and Molly. Our garden is looked after by Keith the gnome. He’s an angel, and wonderful with a pair of shears. We got married on 5th September 2009 ooop North…getting wed down South was too much like work. It was the best day of my life ever!
A bit of history in to the background of the business, what you offer now etc.
After working at BBC Sport for five years, I was after something a little more creative, and longed to work for myself. I have always loved flowers (at this point my parents would love to show you pictures of me as a small person with huge bunches of Hydrangea heads pretending to be a bride in my Grandma’s garden!)

So I enrolled on Jane Packer’s career course in January 2005, and I haven’t looked back since! fairy nuff flowers (named after my tooth fairy) was born on 1st July 2005 and was initially based in my gorgeous little shop in Old Shepperton. I loved the shop, but my passion always lay in weddings. I decided to follow my heart, and now shopless, weddings are my life! Having done over 300 weddings in five years, in venues from The Ritz and Syon Park to marquees in the middle of fields, and barns in Cornwall, we take care of everything flowery from buttonholes and bouquets to pew ends and table centres. Our aim is to create the wow factor that your guests will be talking about for years to come…it’s all in the detail

You must get asked this a lot..what is your favourite and least favourite flower?
Oh, tricky question. Can I have two favourites? I truly can’t separate them…Peonies and Lily of the Valley, with Hydrangeas coming a very very close third (I’m a bit rubbish not being able to pick one aren’t I – sorry). Least favourite flower – probably Kangaroo Paw, not because I don’t like it, it just makes my hands come out in very itchy rashes.

..
Best part of your job?
Working with so many gorgeous couples, and helping to make their special day blooming beautiful!
Where will we see Fairy Nuff Flowers next? Have you done flowers for the stars? We are hoping exhibit at the Landmark Wedding Fair in Teddington (to be confirmed this week), and some of our designs are going to be featured in this months Perfect Wedding Magazine (I think!)….oh and any celeb clients? We worked on David and Victoria Beckham’s perfume launch, decking out everywhere with lots and lots of white Phalaenopsis Orchids – it was stunning! Oh and if anyone out there is friends with Kate and Wills, then please let them know we’re still free on 29th April!
